Brand Cogun as the #1 company that expands space for ministry
Composer / Musician Jim Couchenour is a Marketing and Business Management Graduate of Youngstown State and Mount Vernon Universities, respectively, earning his MBA in 1980. Traveling extensively with Contemporary Christian Band Deliverance, Jim recorded two releases with them before embarking on his career with Cogun, Inc. where he is presently the Director of Marketing & Ministry Services.
Jim held the position of Worship Leader from 1996 thru 2002 at New Hope Community Church. He produced ‘Warehouse Praise’ recording in 1999 with the New Hope Worship Team. Joining Alternative Christian Funk band, SounDoctrine in 2003, he began traveling and recording with the group, releasing his smooth jazz solo debut CD, Living Colour in October 2004.
He released his second solo recording project, Quiet Canvas in December 2007. QC is a compilation of thoughtful, melodic songs that invite the listener to a ‘creative place” of their own. The Weather Channel added four songs to their national rotation from this project.
The second project under the QC brand, Quiet Canvas II has also been put in rotation on The Weather Channel and continues to receive national exposure. It’s a continuation of contemplative, inspiring tunes that include hints of Jims’ smooth jazz leanings from time to time.
Quiet Canvas Christmasis the final "QC" project and is a collection of favorite holiday classics, along with an original Christmas composition. All the arrangements are in the "QC" style and the recording includes friend and guitarist, Paul Dowds.
Ten of Jim's songs from the Quiet Canvas series have been played on the The Weather Channel.
Jim has written and produced theatrical projects for Main Street Theater in Columbiana, OH. His autobiographical play "me & myself' chronicled his life with Tourettes Syndrome and won a Marquee Award nomination from the Youngstown Area Community Theater Association.
Jim is also an award winning photographer (if the Canfield Fair counts).
